About the song

Written in a little caravan on a small Island off the coast of Ireland while my sweetheart slept in the afternoon. It's a soft anti-lullaby calling her to wake up, but also evolved into a wider call for people to give up the security of their sleepy lives and experience the world with eyes wide open...awake to both the positive and negatives that it offers.

The music is deep and dreamy as the repeated guitar pattern softly drums out a dark blanket for the soft vocal to rest upon. McCabe's voice is gentle, but insistent on this track with his usual powerful tenor giving way to a more intimate personal tone. The effect is a song that both moves and relaxes, soothes and burns at the same time.
